Local Attractions in Wellington
Wellington is the capital of New Zealand, and not surprisingly, there is so much to see and do.
The iconic cable car is to Wellington what trams are to San Francisco. It’s the perfect way to navigate some of the city’s steep terrain, whilst visiting Wellington’s key attractions. You can catch the Cable Car from Lambton Quay all the way to the top of the hill, where the Botanic Gardens are situated. Nature-lovers will appreciate the dazzling array of flora and fauna - exotic forests, lush native bush, beautiful rose gardens and themed gardens.
The city’s best vantage point is undoubtedly the Mount Victoria Lookout. It looks out over the blue waters of the Cook Strait and offers a stunning panorama of the cityscape.
